MSMU Learning Partnership Agreement Provides Washington County Chamber Members With Tuition Reduction
HAGERSTOWN, MD. – The Washington County Chamber of Commerce and Mount St. Mary’s University announce a partnership to provide the Chamber’s 675 member organizations and their 40,000-plus employees with a tuition discount on traditional and continuing education opportunities.
The Chamber, established in 1919, is the recognized voice of business in the greater Hagerstown-Washington County, Maryland area. The Chamber’s mission fosters and maintains a thriving business climate in which its members and community can grow and prosper. This agreement provides benefits to Chamber members and their dependents in obtaining the education needed to advance their current careers and explore new ones.
“For 25 years Mount St. Mary’s University has listened to the business community in Washington County and worked to provide professional development training, including adult undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs,” said Jennifer Staiger, Ph.D., MSMU’s associate provost of the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS). “As a member of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, we are deeply honored to offer flexible and reasonably priced educational opportunities through both the DCS in Frederick and our traditional undergraduate, residential campus in Emmitsburg. This helps ensure that Chamber employees, members, and their dependents have the education and skill sets needed to enter and enhance the regional workforce.”
With this partnership, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s members and their employees will be eligible for 20% tuition savings on accelerated undergraduate and graduate courses in the university’s Division of Continuing Studies (DCS). Additionally, members and their dependents, 23 years old and younger, will also enjoy at least a 60% discount on traditional undergraduate coursework at the university’s main campus in Emmitsburg.
“Growth. Community. Success. These three words capture what The Chamber strives to achieve for Washington County. Growth for our businesses and nonprofit organizations, a community that thrives and prospers, and success for all who work and live in Washington County,” said Paul Frey, President & CEO of the Chamber. “This partnership with Mount St. Mary’s University gives The Chamber another tool in our toolbox to help support members of our community seeking personal and professional improvement and success.”
DCS fields of study include data science, logistics and supply chain management, business administration, applied behavior analysis, biotechnology, project management, human services, entrepreneurship, and more. Programs in the Center for Lifelong Learning and the Master of Medical Science - Physician Assistant program are excluded from all discounts.
Traditional undergraduate majors include neuroscience, cybersecurity, business administration, biology, biochemistry, data science, criminal justice, communication, education, world languages, political science, theology, philosophy and more. Courses can count towards undergraduate degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates and graduate degrees.
MSMU’s Division of Continuing Studies operates from the university’s Frederick campus and online, where it offers convenient, flexible, and affordable courses designed for the busy, working adult. Located on the main campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland since 1808, the traditional undergraduate program immerses students in rigorous academic offerings, active and exciting social experiences, and enriching spiritual and leadership opportunities that result in meaningful careers and purpose-driven lives.
The reduced tuition rate does not apply to supplies, books, fees, or other costs associated with a program. To learn more about the partnership and available courses, visit msmary.edu/partnerships.
