Fort Ritchie Community Center Announces Officers for 2025 & Staff Updates
The Fort Ritchie Community Center, a 501c3 organization in Cascade, is proud to announce its officers for 2025:
John Montgomery will serve as President
Jim Kirkpatrick will be Vice-President
Andrew Sargent will be Secretary
Terry Gladhill will serve as Treasurer.
This will be the third term for John and Jim and the first term for Andrew and Terry. The board of directors currently consists of 10 local volunteer members.
Hannah Spinks has been promoted to program director. Hannah is a Smithsburg High School and St. Mary’s (MD) graduate who excelled in the classroom and in athletics. She will plan and implement programs at the community center such as Kids Club, Sports Saturday, Rural Youth Sports Camps, and the newest initiative, Home School Club. Hannah has worked at the community center in various roles since high school, primarily during the summer months and breaks from college.
We are excited to announce Katie Ostrowski has joined the community center team as a group fitness instructor. Katie has an extensive background in dance as a student and instructor. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for fitness and people on Tuesday evenings teaching Barre, a fusion of ballet, Yoga, and Pilates. Congratulations to Samantha Phillips, operations director, for completing her certification as a Golden Hearts - Senior Fitness Trainer. Sam now has two group fitness certifications that she earned through Athletics and Fitness Association of America. Sam regularly runs the Chair Fit class on Thursday mornings in addition to her other duties.
