With over 15 years of actuarial experience, Derek oversees the design and maintenance of Brethren's products, including coverage offerings and rating structures. Additionally, he and his staff ensure regulatory compliance and monitor ISO updates.

Joining Brethren Mutual in April 2018 as the Company's first in-house actuary on staff, Derek was promoted to manage Brethren's Product & Compliance Department later that year. Prior to Brethren, Derek was employed at Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) in the Reserving and Pricing Departments. 

A 2009 graduate of Gettysburg College (Gettysburg, PA), Derek holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Math and was named a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) in 2017. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designation.
