TOPIC: Community Coalition Roundup and Legislative Session Recap

Join Paul Frey, President & CEO of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, and Jim Kercheval, Executive Director of the Greater Hagerstown Committee, as they discuss the mission of the Washington County Community Coalition, present a recap of the 2023 successes, and look ahead to the what the Coalition may be pursuing in 2024. Learn about the annual “Day in Annapolis Reception,” including its purpose and value to Washington County. Paul and Jim will also discuss the importance of citizen involvement in the legislative process, including how to navigate the Maryland General Assembly website.

For almost 20 years, the Washington County Community Coalition has worked to advocate in Annapolis for important initiatives in our community, and educating State leaders and policy makers on the priorities, activities, and strengths of Washington County. Since its inception, the Coalition’s community partner organizations have brought almost $300 million back to the County for worthwhile projects and initiatives, including $10 million for the downtown library, $70 million for the new downtown stadium, and $150 million to widen about half of I-81.
