Meet the Artist:

Marti Griffin Yeager

Marti Griffin Yeager is a visual artist living in Fayetteville, PA. From childhood, Marti has had a passion for drawing and painting.  After taking some art courses in college, she was hooked for life.  She continued to draw and paint and eventually was able to start making art full-time.  Her primary medium is oil, but she also works in acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and occasional printmaking. Marti also does commissioned work, including portraits.

Over the years, she has won numerous awards for her paintings; and has had many solo and small group exhibits in the tri-state area and beyond, including solo exhibits at WITF’s Art in the Atrium, 2019; Roux & Cyr International Art Gallery in Portland, Maine in 2017; Adams County Arts Council in 2021, and CALC in 2024.  In 2015, she was a featured artist in the Art Association of Harrisburg’s Invitational show.  Her work can often be seen at Gallery 50 in Waynesboro, PA.

“In my painting, I strive to create a work that is visually exciting and expressive. Because I don’t like to limit my options for artistic expression, my style varies widely, from fairly “realistic” to completely abstract. My favorite subject is people, but I also love doing landscape, flowers, still life.  No matter what the subject, my goal is the same—to try to create a work that communicates, with the viewer, my response to the mystery and wonder of life.”

Meet The Owner & Chef

My name is Shantell Brown and I’m the owner and head Chef of Casimir Bakery. I like to make people happy with the food I make, and desserts are the food that makes people the happiest. This Bakery has been my lifelong dream. I am a classically trained chef who studied baking and pastry arts and food business management at The Culinary Institute of America, and I want to use my skills to inspire joy.

Meet The Woman Behind the Name

Casimir Gordon - Around the time I decided to open my own bakery, my grandmother got diagnosed with a rare breast cancer. I made a promise to myself that if she beat her cancer, I would name the bakery after her. Ever since we found out she was cancer-free, I put all my energy into making my promise a reality. She is the kindest, most thoughtful, and welcoming person I know, and this business will be a part of her lasting legacy.
