Walk Maryland Day
Wednesday, October 4, 2023 (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Prime Time for Women has led Walking to Wellness for 70 consecutive weeks with out missing even one time! Ask any of our regular members and they will tell you that Walking to Wellness is "Where Health Happens & Connections Matter." We are super excited that the County and City Parks & Rec Departments and the Washington County Health Department will be joining us for our regular weekly walk in celebration of Walk Maryland Day. Walk Maryland Day is a celebration of our official state exercise--walking! It is always celebrated statewide on the first Wednesday in October, to coincide with Walk to School Day. It is a call to action to promote awareness about regular walking year-round, to encourage physical activity and improved health, engaging Marylanders with fun walks for all. October 4 marks the 8th Annual Walk Maryland Day celebration. Walks this year will either be in person or virtual dependent on the guidelines around in person gatherings in October. All Marylanders are encouraged to take time on that day to lead or join a walking event around where they live, work or play on October 4, 2023. We encourage you to make walking a regular habit, not just on October 4. Be a part of the Walktober movement to make at least 150 minutes of physical activity weekly your year round habit!
