One of the primary issues facing Downtown Hagerstown is the lack of feet on the street after 5:00 PM. Adding a ballpark will be one way to change that. But we cannot wait a year – our businesses need support now.
A weekly Happy Hour – every Thursday, beginning on May 4 – can be the start of our building a community that talks and supports one another. We need to get to know one another and demonstrate that Downtown Hagerstown is a fun and vibrant place to be. We want to become ambassadors for our City. You should feel free to bring any marketing materials to hand out to help spread the word about upcoming events, sales, etc. at your business. The more information we share with one another, the better ambassadors we all become.
All who work in Downtown Hagerstown are invited: City, County, and State employees, Greater Hagerstown employees, the Chamber of Commerce, employees from the University System of Maryland, non-profit organizations, law firms, and tenants in our buildings.
We will offer cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine at happy hour prices.
You are encouraged to visit local restaurants afterwards to have dinner. Many are open in the evenings: The District, Schmankerl Stube, 28 South, Bulls & Bears, the Broad Axe, etc. Every other week, Poker is played at Meinelschmidt Distillery, and the deck of Prohibition Hub is open.
The goal is to keep folks downtown for a bit after work. We will have a 50-50 drawing each week where the winners must be present to win. Drawing will occur each Thursday at 5:50 PM. 50% of the money will go to the ticket holder and 50% will go to a non-profit organization. The first non-profit to benefit will be Horizon Goodwill – the organization who works hard to keep Potomac Walk clean.
Every Thursday from 4:30pm-6:00pm starting May 4th.
