GenNext: Revitalizing Star Community's Sensory Trail (Volunteer Opportunity)
Saturday, May 20, 2023 (12:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EDT)
Star Community’s Sensory Trail is a 1-mile long paved walking path located on Star’s property. The trail is fully accessible and open to the public, and can be enjoyed either through an interactive scavenger hunt or at each person’s own leisure. Along the trail are numerous activities that appeal to all five senses, including musical instruments, an herb garden and native plant garden, and colorful outdoor decorations. The trail also features accessible outdoor play equipment, including a swing set, balance beams, and slide, as well as numerous benches for relaxation. The finishing touch of the trail is the “Read Roses” little library, where people can take and leave books at their desire.
We are going to help Star revitalize their trail! We hope you can join us for an afternoon of light outdoor work that will improve the Sensory Trail for all.
GenNext was created to benefit young professionals from the ages of 21 to 39. The group meets for professional development events, networking, volunteer initiatives, casual group outings, and more. Events are specifically structured to help young professionals advance in their communication, networking, and leadership skills. In addition, we strive for GenNext members to become advocates through community involvement in the Hagerstown-Washington County region.
