Meritus Medical Center named national high performing hospital

Meritus recognized in multiple categories by U.S. News & World Report

HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- Meritus Medical Center has been named a 2022-2023 High Performing Hospital in treatment of the following:

• Kidney failure

• Heart failure

• Stroke

• Uterine cancer surgery

The recognition comes from U.S. News & World Report, a global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice. This is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

“As Western Maryland’s largest healthcare provider, we are honored that the skills and dedication of our team members have been recognized on the national level. This is just one of many ways our hospital excels in meeting patient needs,” said Carrie Adams, Pharm.D., chief operating officer. “I’m proud to work with such great teams at Meritus Health.”

For the 2022-2023 Best Hospital ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. Fewer than half of all hospitals received any rating at all. Ratings are based on objective measures of quality such as survival rates, patient experience and how successfully each hospital helps patients return home.

Meritus Health, Western Maryland’s largest health care provider, is located at the crossroads of Western Maryland, Southern Pennsylvania and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
