About Rod:
With a passion to improve people and organizations, Rod has held a variety of leadership roles with stints in human resources, training and organizational development, nonprofit development, and leadership programming.
His company, Down Set Lead, focuses on getting organizations, leaders and individuals to achieve their goals through highly interactive programming, quite often in the outdoors. Specific examples include his Leadership in the Battlefield programs; Succession planning and in-house mentoring programs for larger organizations; and retreats for both couples and men at Alpine Lake, West Virginia.
Rod also serves as the Director of Outreach for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, a free program designed to help established business owners create a growth plan for their company.
In the community Rod serves as a mentor and coach; he founded two Baltimore area programs: Anna’s Guys, a collection of men who work with abused and sheltered children; and the Catch A Pig 5k, having raising over $100k for the local Boys & Girls Clubs.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Towson University, and a Masters of Organizational Development from Johns Hopkins University.
